What We Need For American Renewal

In many countries around the world, the government ALLOWS you to worship only ‘approved’ religions, or restricts some religions, while actively promoting others. As we see on the nightly news, there are many extreme groups and governments who would have you submit to their views and beliefs, or be happy to see you die. This is anathema to America and Americans. In America, the government doesn't allow any religion. Rather, it guarantees EVERY religion’s adherents the right to worship in the manner they please. The only restriction is the same for Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Sikhs, and all other religions, as well as those of  uncertain religion, and those of no religion whatsoever: Just do not infringe on the rights of others, and obey the laws all Americans must.

It only takes a very small, determined minority to wreak havoc in a free society. Those who wish to disrupt and undermine our society know the best way to achieve this goal is to pit Americans against one another, using Americans to do just that! Those wishing ill on our society also know there is much advantage (and money) to be made by taking advantage of peoples' fears- as well as many powerful and influential people who would put their personal gain ahead of the safety and security of all Americans and who would willingly politicize ANY issue if there were a profit in it. 

Oddly enough, the loudest voices seem to be the small, radical minorities on all sides of any issue. I say seem, because there is much money to be made in the outrage industry, as Media, Politicians and others wishing to exploit the situation for their own means and benefit give the loudest megaphone and biggest stage to their most extreme opponents.as false examples of the majority of their opponents. Many individuals and organizations use Identity Politics tactics to isolate people who are members of various ethnic, religious and other social groups to exploit their differences with other groups, or the majority, in order to achieve crass personal gains, or vague and destructive hardened ideological goals, There is a bias in media and politics to focusing exclusively on what divides, angers and provokes, rather than a focus on moving forward to common, agreed upon and necessary goals.

There is something broken in American Society. Economically, Politically, in the Religious sphere and in the Educational System. We need to end the era of insular ideological rigidity and crass exploitation dominating our culture and politics. We need people from all backgrounds and ideologies to reach out and cooperate with opponents and achieving the necessary goals we can all agree must be reached. Despite the cartoon portrayals of 'Divided America', there are many more who just want a good job and a safe environment to raise a family than want to tear others down and shut down opposing speech. But that type of news doesn’t sell soap, pain medication or life insurance. Nor does it elicit wealthy donors of all stripes to open their coffers to those who promise them favors and exemptions.

This ‘dark’ mood meme the media is carpet bombing our TV screens, smart phones and the few newspapers that still exist with appears to exist only in newsrooms, DC strategy sessions, and the minds of many in the far-removed-from-reality entertainment industry. For the most part, Americans of every background remain as we always have been- tolerant, generous, hard-working and believing we can make a better life for ourselves and the ones we love.

Many of us are more than a little annoyed that the people we elect to do our business waste our money and time, and insult our intelligence with the sloppy and corrupt way that MOST of them allow our country to be run. Furthermore, most of us could care less about 90% of what the media seem to want to report about- which seems more designed to confuse and incite anger rather than to elucidate arguments and work toward solutions. 

Our esteemed legislators need to straighten out Immigration, Trade, Infrastructure, TAXES and repair a broken process in Washington- while ensuring America and Americans’ rights are not trampled by individuals, companies, foreign entities or our OWN government. This last election may have shown some deep divisions in this country, but I have always believed, and I will continue to believe, that there are ALWAYS more things Americans agree upon than disagree about. We just like to argue more. 

And our media needs to get out of their bubbles and into America, where MOST of their viewers, readers and customers live, work, sweat, cry and die. Nobody is watching because the issues and ideals you present bear little to no relationship to the worries, cares, concerns and goals of most Americans. Give your opinion. But realize there could POSSIBLY be an opinion opposed to yours that MAY be right!

We will get through these troubled times as we always have: We will come together, ignore the naysayers and tools of the corrupt, and do what is necessary to insure a safe, fair and prosperous country for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.

Chicago Politics Consumes America

Chicago Politics writ large over a failing America. It's not about Left vs. Right (as the big-money powers backing BOTH sides would like you to believe), It's about Right vs. WRONG! Our government is now being run as a criminal enterprise, where public funds are used to reward political allies, and private companies are being harassed, extorted and appropriated through the illegal use of the force of government. Agencies such as the EPA, FBI, and every other alphabet-gang (er... 'Agency'), now act as 'shake-down' agents and 'enforcers' for essentially a Government-run protection racket. Just look into the shady dealings of Barack and Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Rahm Emmanuel and their jailhouse buddy, Chicago real-estate titan Tony Reszko! Why did President Obama lobby so hard for the Chicago Olympics and even GO to Europe to plead their case? It was more than just a rabid case of Chicago 'City Pride'! Perhaps one should look into the site plans for the Olympic Stadia and Villages- where the aforementioned people (either directly or through surrogates and shells) bought up the land and buildings in advance so as to make exorbitant profits!

Look at the GM and Chrysler 'Bailouts'- which actually were merely standard yearly Bridge Loans that the Companies were unable to get from their normal channels with the Big Banks- who shut down ALL lending in order to create a crisis in THEIR grab for more power (and Federal Money!). After the Loans, The Obama Cartel forced the Companies into a 'Managed Bankruptcy'- something that should have happened immediately, but was delayed as the Government continued to pour billions into essentially failed companies. However, the Obama Cadre decided to VIOLATE 100 Years of Bankruptcy law by voiding the Primacy of Bondholder debt. This decision not only sent shudders throughout the Bond Market (where start-up capital and expansion-promoting debt are financed), but also took away GUARANTEED equity from not only corporations, but many employees and retirees, who invested in those bonds primarily because of their legally-guaranteed 'safety'. President Obama's team of politically=driven whiz-kids took that equity out of the people that had bought those bonds legally and with good faith, and GAVE that equity to the United Auto Workers Union- a HUGE Obama Campaign supporter, organizer and CONTRIBUTOR!

This illegal process took precious income away from retired salaried Auto Workers, reduced and eliminated GUARANTEED Pensions for thousands – including raiding the Fully-Funded Pension of the SALARIED workers at GM spin-off Delphi, and used these illegal funds to help FULLY-FUND the grossly mismanaged Pension fund of the UAW! Not to mention the hits in Health Insurance, Life Insurance and other benefits that salaried workers and retirees had to give up- while their UNION co-workers saw the Companies, under the velvet-covered iron fist of the government, FULLY fund their pension, and give the UNION Bosses THEIR share of the company, and a seat at the board of directors- when the Union was at least as culpable for the downfall of the Companies as the incompetent management!

Of course, anyone FROM or Near Chicago or Detroit  recognize this particular form of Crony-Capitalism- it's been going on for decades at two of America's largest cities essentially run by the Democratic Machine! Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is now on trial for running a RICO organization that is dwarfed by the scale and ruthlessness of the one being run out of Washington D.C.. If Americans want to see their future under the 'care' of The Obama (or Obama-Like) Machine, just look to the City of Detroit. The only businesses that are successful have deep ties to the Administrations, and deep pockets to keep paying the 'Protection Money' needed to maintain that success. Gleaming towers in developed areas lie next to where the common folk live (or USED to, in many cases!). Fear and divisiveness are cultivated among the electorate and distilled like a fine spirit to be used to manipulate and control the political process, which in turn controls the financial purse strings of the city. Favors are doled out, those who choose to ignore paying 'tribute' to cronies both public and private are tossed out, and through a Byzantine and opaque system, little to nothing is found out.

Sounds like what Washington has become under the Obama Regime!

Don't Go Down the Chute at the Charnel House!

I post, comment and generally spout off on a LOT of message boards and news sites- from international Media Conglomerates all the way down to the Little Blogs That Could. In my travels around cyberspace, I see a lot of anti-intellectual arguments about Ron Paul, such as "OMG, the Paulites are out tonight", "what a Paultard" and on and on ad-nauseum. Many posters (and even journalists) then proceeded to 'add nothing to the debate' with dismissive (and inaccurate) comments about things like the ridiculously inaccurate "Ron Paul's an isolationist" neo-con talking point, or just plain rude and sophomoric name-calling. This is (unfortunately) typical of much of what Ron Paul and his supporters are up against. Even if you wikipedia the vast difference between 'isolationism' and 'non-interventionism' (apparently many MUST get their info from there!), it's easy to dissemble that argument, and quite frankly, most of the simplistic and fallacious arguments against Dr. Paul.

Meanwhile, Ron Paul's supporters (most of them) soldier on through the ad-hominem attacks, the glittering generalities, the straw man attacks and all the other dishonest propaganda tactics, and continue to ask the hard questions in a reasonable manner. They also persist in deflecting and destroying the jingoistic bumper-sticker neo-con big government talking points thrown at them that are the only intellectual (!) ammunition many opponents seem to have against Dr. Paul.

Denigrating a candidate or his supporters in a simplistic and non-productive way is not 'debate'. It is propaganda. But it IS effective in deflecting the debate away from the issue being argued, and causing the attackee to either defend himself, or go back at the attacker in a similar manner. This is EXACTLY the purpose of such attacks- just ask Saul Alinsky! We, as supporters of Ron Paul and even more importantly, advocates of the principles that he espouses, must resist the temptation to respond in like fashion to the puerile attacks that we continually endure.

Instead, we need to continue the REAL debate and wake people up to how they are being robbed, jobbed and lobbed into the flaming pit of economic serfdom! We need to keep alive debate about the REAL issues facing America; the horrible cost in both lives and economically of the 5 (at least)  wars; the downward spiral that crony capitalism and corruption in D.C. have put this country into both economically and socially; the deleterious effects of the 'War On Terror' and War On Drugs'- whose only REAL effects seem to be the enrichment of those well-connected to the government (crony capitalism) and the massive consolidation of government power at the expense of the wealth, welfare and Civil Liberties of the vast majority of Americans; the phony and destructive 'efforts' of Congress and the President to negotiate a budget (none for three years now!) and the even more ridiculous Kabuki Dance about 'cutting' the budget that doesn't even use real or real-time numbers- let alone accomplish anything within the realm of reality!

Now, they may call us 'Paultard' or say how 'loony' these ideas are.... I welcome such attacks! They only serve to prove the points I have outlined above, and to put lie to the empty arguments being used against the fight for Liberty. When we respond in a rational and calm manner (yet still forceful and determined), we begin to win the argument by staking out the moral and intellectual high ground, and refusing to climb in the quicksand pit of emotional propaganda.

We need to wake up America- or else we will ALL continue to be led like political sheeple down the chute at the Government Charnel House.

A Media Outlet actually LISTENS to what readers say about Ron Paul!

What's worse than the blackout? The type of 'damning with faint praise' type of articles that almost ALWAYS accompanies the meager amount of coverage that Dr. Paul gets. Any positive news is always followed by a qualifier. He has good plans BUT... He has dedicated and avid 'followers' (hate that word) BUT... He won the caucus BUT... In the Chrisitian Science Monitor article linked at the top, Writer Maud Dillingham, after seeing article avfter article deluged with intelligent rebuttals from adamant posters, objectively and soberly looks at the complaints that Ron Paul supporters have about the media.

My take on the media coverage? Excuse me, but since when is having a large grassroots organization; gaining and MAINTAINING popularity WITHOUT the help of (or in spite of) coverage by the media; motivating people to get out on their own (NOT 'bussed in') and actually VOTE for you; having five times as many individual campaign donors as the purported 'front runner'; having more active duty military contributors than all your opponents COMBINED (yet being criticized for 'not supporting the military'!), and finally, actually having a plan that does what all the other candidates PROMISE to do- balance the budget- in one-third the time; proposing to actually CUT the deficit by actually CUTTING spending, and by ONE TRILLION DOLLARS the first year, while the ostensible 'front runner' is proposing to cut about 2% of that, and spreading it out in time (as Buzz Lightyear would say) 'to infinity and beyond!". Ron Paul's record in this race is TEXTBOOK politics on how to build a campaign, stay on message, motivate your base and maintain fundraising- all without compromising your principles.

ANY other candidate does even HALF of what Ron Paul has proposed and accomplished, and the media and the Party Elites would declare the race OVER. Yet the more sense Ron Paul makes, the more solid support (not 'flavor of the week') he gets, the harder the media try to bury him, and the more foolish they look.

One final example. The day after Ron Paul announced the boldest proposal by ANY candidate, promising DEEPER and REAL spending cuts, I did a survey of all the major news outlets on line. Half of the news outlets put the story on their front page, or even in their 'Top News' section, while half of the major news outlets had NO STORY- even if you did a search of their entire website! How can a story be 'Top News' on HALF the major outlets, yet not even rate a MENTION on the other half? The only explanation can be a systematic and deliberate censorship of the news when it pertains to ONE CANDIDATE. It's not paranoia if they really ARE against you!

SO congratulations, CSM! Continue to cover Ron Paul fairly and in an even-handed manner with the other candidates, and you will see your readership rise as people continue to drain away from the outlets that continually and blatantly shoot themselves in the foot with obviously biased and ham-handed coverage (or non-coverage). The American people may be ignorant due to not being presented all the facts, but they are not stupid. And they recognize when they are being lied to. And they don't react to that very well.
